2nd Amendment Rally Wrap-up

Frederick County Campaign for Liberty had a great time, along with nearly 200 attendees, celebrating our natural right to keep and bear arms! More than 15 concerned citizens took to the podium and voiced their pro-liberty, pro-2nd amendment position while those in the audience wrote short messages to MD 3rd District Senator Ron Young expressing their displeasure at his co-sponsoring of the Maryland Gun Ban bill, SB281.

AM 1450 The Source broadcast parts of our rally, and recorded most of it. Please check out the audio they captured at their website.

Campaign for Liberty provided an explanation of the 2nd Amendment in the context of the drafting of the Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia constitutions which occurred around the same time. When read in the context of its writing, the amendment clearly makes no distinction between firearms with regard to magazines, overall length, or ability to accept accessories - which Ron Young thinks you can't be trusted with.

Among the speakers were Frederick's own Sheriff Chuck Jenkins, Frederick County Coordinator for Campaign for Liberty, Jason Laird, MD State Senate candidate Jerry Cave, and US Senate candidate for Maryland Dan Bongino.

Frederick C4L took all of the messages written by attendees and stuck them to Senator Young's office door at the corner of Church and East Streets. I don't think there's much danger of him missing them... but if you didn't get a chance to write a note, please call Senator Young and let him know what you think about his Gun Ban bill:
Annapolis: 410 841 3575
Frederick: 301 662 8520

Though the Gun Grab Bill has passed the senate, citizens and activists have delayed the bill in the House of Delegates. There's still time to let your delegates know how their constituents feel. Click here to get the contact information for your delegates.
